As part of its deepening foothold in the North American market, global boutique production company Sweetshop has formed a joint venture with Matthew Bucher to be the company’s Midwest Sales Rep.
A native Chicagoan, Matt founded Obsidian, a responsive representation company with a laser focus on talent, in early 2010 seeing opportunities for content creation far beyond the 30-second television spot. Eight years later, with the help of business partner and Head of Digital Brady Hurt, Obsidian is now firing on all cylinders with strong offerings in both the Content and Interactive departments.
Laura Macauley Thoel, Managing Director & Executive Producer of Sweetshop’s operations in the US said, “From the very first conversation, I could tell Matt gets it. He has extensive knowledge of the business and has the right drive and fearlessness that I look for. We’re delighted to welcome Matt to Sweetshop’s team.”
Matt added, “Sweetshop has grown into one of the most ambitious and exciting production companies in the industry. I am so excited about the opportunity to represent such a high level of directing talent, and hopefully setting a new standard for representation. I’ll be working with the very best.”
